PRESS RELEASE: Speed Group, one of Sweden’s largest 3PL providers, becomes the new logistics and transport partner for Plantagen in the Nordics as the company chooses to outsource. The assignment includes warehouse operations and distribution to all stores in Sweden and Norway. The deal means Speed will establish operations in two new locations – Helsingborg and Moss, Norway.
Plantagen, the Nordic market leader in plants and gardening, has decided to outsource its logistics operations—a strategic step to increase flexibility and cost efficiency. Under the agreement, Speed will take over the entire logistics chain, including warehouse management and transport solutions in both Sweden and Norway.
- We see a need to continue reducing our logistics costs, and with Speed we have the partner we need to achieve this. They have demonstrated an ability to combine operational strength with a business-oriented partnership, and we are confident they will help develop our logistics in a competitive and sustainable way, says Jesper Lien, Group CEO at Plantagen.
The solution means Speed will take over the operation of Plantagen’s existing logistics centers in Helsingborg and Moss. Staff at these facilities will be offered employment with Speed, ensuring continuity and local expertise. Speed’s Transport Management division will handle all transportation, both from suppliers in Europe and to the company’s stores across the Nordics.
- This is a strategically important assignment for us. We are establishing operations in two new locations and strengthening our position within retail and seasonal logistics. Plantagen is a strong brand with complex logistics needs, and we look forward to contributing with our experience and commitment, says Johan Appelkvist, Business Development Manager Logistics at Speed.
The takeover of warehouse operations will take place on January 1, 2026, and transport solutions will be implemented gradually starting now, with full operations from January 2026.
Jesper Lien, CEO Plantagen, chooses Speed as logistics and transportation partner.
