Speed secures Willhem's construction logistics.

Written by Speed | January 05, 2023

PRESS RELEASE: Speed signs agreement with Willhem for construction logistics services. For Willhem, which is one of Sweden's largest private housing companies in rental properties, the agreement means that Speed secures their access to strategic building materials and creates the conditions for improved planning and control of operations.

With over 28,000 apartments in the portfolio and a strategy where Willhemlyftet, where apartments, if necessary, are completely renovated before they change tenants, plays a central role, optimized construction logistics is an important success factor. Therefore, Willhem and its newly established subsidiary Willhem Logistics have chosen to sign an agreement with Speed for logistics services. Willhem already uses Speed's recruitment and staffing services.

     - We are implementing a completely new way of working where we purchase larger volumes and stock building materials ourselves to increase our opportunities to act in an otherwise rather uncertain market and also secure our costs for strategic materials, says Magnus Åkerskog, head of the Real Estate Department at Willhem and responsible for Willhem Logistics. We appreciate that Speed has shown a willingness to participate in finding new logistics solutions with and for us, which has opened up opportunities for business development in parallel with the core business. It feels very positive and bodes well for our cooperation in the future.

In the first phase, the collaboration will focus on logistics of building materials, but in the long term it can be expanded with additional products and services. The collaboration will begin in the first quarter of 2023 and initially from one of Speed's warehouse facilities in Borås, to soon also include the one in Stockholm.

     - We are delighted to welcome Willhem as a customer, says Johan Appelkvist, Business Development Manager at Speed. The construction sector is an exciting industry where we aim to grow and we look forward to working with Willhem to find new solutions and develop our joint business.
