A commitment that reaches beyond our business
For us at Speed, it is important to give back to society and the world around us. It’s a responsibility we carry as a major employer and as a company committed to sustainability – a responsibility we are more than happy to take on. One way we do this is by engaging in meaningful social initiatives and supporting organisations that share our values. Organisations that are especially close to our hearts.
Vi-Skogen: planting trees that lift people out of poverty
We are a proud corporate supporter of Vi Agroforestry, an organisation that, in addition to planting trees, spreads knowledge in East Africa about sustainable and efficient farming methods. The trees become superheroes, because planting them alongside crops delivers a double impact: reduced poverty and a better climate.
This year, we have chosen to give our customers a true superhero Christmas gift. We are planting trees – 2,000 of them, to be exact. Our 2,000 trees bind approximately 50 tonnes of CO₂ per year, while also contributing in many other important ways.
Destination Gymnasiet: repairing broken grades and giving hope for the future
Destination Gymnasiet is a local initiative in Borås that helps ninth-grade students pass compulsory-school mathematics and thereby qualify for upper-secondary education. Speed has supported the initiative since its start in 2014.
Every Sunday, around sixty students gather in facilities outside the school environment to receive free math coaching in small groups. The coaches are upper-secondary or university students, and the teaching is based on the same materials the pupils use in school. By changing their environment and meeting others in the same situation, both confidence and motivation grow.
The results speak for themselves: more than 97% of participating students achieve a passing grade in mathematics.
Every young person who leaves compulsory school without passing grades represents a lost opportunity. A closed future. And each time, it is a failure for the individual, for us as employers, and above all for the society in which we live and operate. Destination Gymnasiet repairs broken grades and helps young people move toward a brighter future. At Speed, we see this as one of our most important social commitments. Providing young people with a second chance is not only crucial for the individual – it also strengthens society, the labour market and future talent development.
GIS - together for young people's future
In Gothenburg, many children and young people grow up facing tough circumstances. GIS, the Gothenburg Institute for Social Responsibility, works to change this by strengthening protective factors, reducing risk factors, and creating more opportunities for a brighter future.
By connecting the business community with associations and organisations that are already making a difference, GIS builds bridges that create real impact. With support from research, local engagement and continuous evaluation, they test what truly works – and scale up the initiatives that deliver results so they can reach even more young people.
This is an effort we at Speed are proud to be part of.
CleanSea - we have adopted two bays for cleaner seas
Plastic in our oceans is one of the greatest environmental challenges of our time, affecting both wildlife and people. CleanSea is a Swedish organisation working to remove plastic and litter from our oceans and coastlines. The organisation is driven by young entrepreneurs with a strong vision: to create a cleaner future and inspire more people to take responsibility for the environment.
Speed supports CleanSea by adopting two bays on the west coast. This means we fund regular clean-up operations where plastic and debris are collected and removed from nature. Every effort makes a difference – for the ocean, for wildlife and for future generations.
We believe in concrete actions for a sustainable future. That’s why we are proud to contribute to CleanSea’s work for cleaner seas and shores.
The Entrepreneur Program: creating the stars of the future
The entrepreneurial spirit has permeated Speed ever since its inception in 2004. In Borås, there is an upper secondary education that is completely unique - the Entrepreneurial Program. It is a cutting-edge education that creates the skills we are absolutely dependent on. Speed is therefore a proud member of the Friends of the Entrepreneurial Program.
Elfsborg - a partnership with heart
We are proud supporters of IF Elfsborg – a club that, just like us, believes in forward movement and sustainable development. Through its community initiatives and youth programmes, Elfsborg makes a real difference both on and off the pitch.
And speaking of engagement – at home matches, we treat fans to “Speed-fika” during halftime. Because energy is needed both in the stands and in logistics.
