Bra Miljöval district heating contributes to sustainable logistics.
Speed September 18, 2025
At Speed, sustainability is an integral part of our business development. We work long-term and purposefully to reduce our climate impact and create logistics solutions that are sustainable both environmentally and commercially. Both Speed and our customers place high demands on sustainability, and it is our responsibility to meet them - and preferably be one step ahead.
Bra Miljöval is the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation's ecolabel.

The latest sustainability initiative we are implementing in our logistics facilities is switching to district heating with the Bra Miljöval label. This is a concrete step in further reducing the climate impact of our flows and contributing to our customers' sustainability work. Bra Miljöval is one of the toughest labels in the world to achieve. To obtain the label, district heating producers must meet high standards for climate impact, use of resources, protection of biodiversity, and social responsibility. Among other things, there are requirements that fuel must not come from protected forests, that peat must not be used, and that the producer works actively to improve energy efficiency. This means that we, as customers, can rest assured that the energy we use is produced with consideration for both the environment and people.
Our customers have ambitious climate targets, and we want to be a partner that helps them achieve them. By making conscious choices in our own operations, we can create logistics solutions that are sustainable both environmentally and commercially.
Borås is first out, but more locations will follow.
The 83,000m2 facility in Viared, Borås, is the first to introduce climate-smart district heating. In Gothenburg, we plan to switch to Bra Miljöval-labeled district heating in conjunction with the commissioning of our newly built logistics facility in the spring. And in Falkenberg, our new site will be powered by 100% renewable district heating from the start.
By continuously improving our energy choices while finding new solutions to reduce our heat consumption, we create long-term customer value and contribute to the logistics industry moving in the right direction.
For our customers, this is more than just a symbolic act. It's concrete proof that their logistics partner is taking responsibility and that every part of the chain, from energy supply to transportation solutions, is designed to support their sustainability goals.
