geblodEvery day, 1,200 bags of blood are needed in Sweden. About 3% of Swedes are blood donors, which means that we have just enough, but no more. More blood donors are needed! That's why we at Speed decided to "Save lives at work" and encourage our employees to give blood during working hours. It is an important community effort that we are happy to support. We see it as a community engagement in our long-term social sustainability work.

As many as 100,000 people need blood every year, and on average, one bag is used every minute, every day, all year round. It could be for an accident, temporary or chronic illness, surgery, childbirth or transplant. The occasions are many and the need is great.

In Sweden today, about 3% of us are blood donors. This means that there is enough blood to go around - but we live on the margin. In the event of a major accident or crisis, we would have problems. That's why more blood donors are needed in the country.

The organization Give Blood is actively working to raise awareness about blood donation and encourage more people to contribute. Naturally, Speed, which is a large employer with many employees, chooses to support the initiative. We therefore choose to join "Save Lives at Work".

In practical terms, this means that we enable and encourage our employees to go and give blood during working hours. A visit takes a total of about 45 minutes and in practice, donations are normally made two to three times a year. We see it as an investment in a more sustainable future.

SAVE LIVES DURING WORKING HOURS TOO!
