- Employee Spotlight: Kashan Noori.
When Kashan Noori started at Speed, she had no idea how to handle a pallet jack. But it didn’t take long before she mastered that—and her job as an assembler in one of Speed’s production departments—with ease.
Sustainability Focus Sperked Both Work and Studies.
- I had read a lot about Speed and liked their approach and mindset. Plus, I had a relative who had worked here for many years and was very happy. That made me apply. Everything was new to me when I started, and over these years I’ve learned so much and really grown as a person, Kashan explains.
A Workplace with Strong Team Spirit.
Speed is a large workplace with many employees. Sometimes that’s a challenge, but it can also be a strength. Kashan definitely feels the team spirit is strong.
- Speed is like a big family! No matter what you work with, you meet colleagues from other departments and roles all the time, and everyone helps and encourages each other to grow. It’s wonderful!

Full Speed Ahead for Kashan.
Kashan is someone who juggles many things. Most people would think two small children and a full-time job at Speed would be enough, but Kashan also managed to fit in studies this year. Passionate about sustainability, she found the distance course Leading Sustainability Work at Uppsala University a perfect match. She has now completed it and finished her thesis.
- I chose to focus my thesis on my production department here at Speed since I know it well. Plus, it’s relatively new, and I thought there might be room to develop sustainability thinking. I knew it would be a challenge because Speed has a strong sustainability focus and has already done a lot in this area. But I did find improvement opportunities, Kashan says proudly.
Small Improvements Make a Big Difference.
Just like Speed, Kashan works from the philosophy that even small improvements can make a big impact. In her interviews with colleagues, she found that increasing knowledge about sustainability could help reduce the environmental impact of operations. Highlighting ongoing sustainability efforts and sharing information about future plans was another improvement point she identified.

- We have a ‘Training Dojo’ here at Speed where employees receive practical training, for example in waste sorting. It’s great to see that, as a complement to this, we’re now also developing digital sustainability training. That makes it easier to keep knowledge up to date.
In Kashan’s department, a lot of packaging is handled—cardboard, plastic, metal, styrofoam—and while recycling is done well, there’s room for improvement in other departments. Sometimes it’s as simple as clearer signage. She also sees the importance of Speed having an active dialogue with customers to influence material choices toward more sustainable alternatives.
- It’s been a fun course, and I’ve received so much help and support from my manager, my closest colleagues, and others here at Speed, which I’m very grateful for. I hope I can contribute to Speed’s continued sustainability work with my knowledge and that together we can work toward a more sustainable future.
