We are now taking the next step in our commitment to renewable energy by installing solar panels at our Stockholm site. With one of Sweden's largest rooftop solar installations of 53,000 m² at our headquarters in Borås, we have already shown that a greener future is possible. Now we are building on that success and strengthening our contribution to the energy transition.
Sustainability in action
Since 2021, our facility in Borås has produced 4 million kWh of renewable electricity every year. We are now expanding this capacity by also installing a 3,000 m² solar plant on our property in Stockholm. According to the plan, the plant will be installed in March to be fully operational just in time for the start of the solar season. It is then expected to cover about 35% of our own electricity needs, and 35% of the total production will be able to be sold and contribute to green electricity in the grid for others.
- This is part of our work for a greener future. We know we can't do everything, but we can do our part. Combining climate responsibility with profitability is one of the greatest opportunities of our time, says Per Jonasson, CFO at Speed and head of the company's sustainability group.
Moving forward with sustainability
We set the goal of becoming climate neutral by 2025 - a goal we had already achieved by 2023 and continue to maintain. Solar investments are an important part of that journey. We believe that every effort counts and hope to inspire others to take similar initiatives.
Stockholm is the next step, but far from the last. Looking to the future, we continue to make a difference, one project at a time.
